The Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung, majoring in Forestry, held an international public lecture with the title: Korea-ASEAN Smart Green Technology Cooperation: Perspective on Korea-ASEAN Green Tech Cooperation. Held on Tuesday, 18 October 2022, in the A1 building FP Unila.
The event was attended by: Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Ir. Irwan Sukri Banuwa, M.Si., along with the Deputy Dean for General Affairs and Finance, Dr. Ir. Abdullah Aman Damai, M.Si.
Head of Forestry Department, Dr. Indra Gumay Febryano, S. Hut, M.Sc., and Secretary of the Department of Forestry, Susni Herwanti, S.Hut., M.Sc., Forestry lecturers and Forestry students were 100 participants.
Keynote speaker Dr. Kwanyoung Kim (Green Technology Center, Korea), and event moderator Dr. Wahyu Hidayat, S. Hut., M.Sc.
Understanding related to Green Technology or green technology is important for Indonesia as a competitive advantage to promote a national strategy that centered on sustainable resource activities, such as agriculture, forestry, fisheries and carbon emission-free based industries.
This green technology will be a problem in future growth strategy if it has not been implemented properly, and still many people do not understand it.
Indonesia has established and implemented six strategies to break the trap middle income and pursuing green growth. Indonesia targets the level of economic growth of 6.0% and at the same time aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 27.3% by 2024.
Students are a resource people who have the potential to develop various sciences and technologies in various fields such as green technology.
This activity is carried out to improve understanding to students as well as lecturers at the University of Lampung related green technology, especially the result of cooperation between South Korea, represented by Green Technology Center (GTC) and countries in ASEAN such as Indonesia.
On the other hand, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung, Prof. Dr. Irwan Sukri Banuwa, He said that, Global attention to support the development of green technology utilizing renewable energy sources have increased. Indonesia, as well as Lampung Province, is blessed with relatively abundant potential of renewable energy.
The development of green technology demands coherence across a range of policy areas and stakeholders. Therefore, synergy between government, universities, research institutions, as well as national and international biomass stakeholders, is needed.
This is in line with the motto or tagline of University of Lampung: Synergy and Innovation for the Nation
According to Prof. Dr. Irwan Sukri Banuwa, that University of Lampung is widely open to have cooperation and partnerships with the national and international stakeholders so that the development green technology can meet and satisfy the code applied in Indonesia.
The Dean of Agriculture Unila hopes that the exchange of views and discussions to be held in this general lecture will be successful and I also hope that this general lecture will come up with sound recommendations that will be beneficial to all parties.
The purpose of this international public lecture is to:
- Optimizing the teaching and learning process by providing knowledge.
- Provide information to students and lecturers about green technology and implementation in Indonesia.
- Improving the insight and competence of students and lecturers in the field of forest product technology.
